SHAWNA HERWICK
Administrative Director, Planning and Accreditation
Shawna is passionate about continuous improvement to promote access to higher education. In her current role she is able to work collaboratively with College employees through developing data-driven goals and strengthening SCC's accreditation relationship with the Higher Learning Commission.

BETSY ANDERSON
College Advisor
Betsy has worked at SCC since January 2017, first as an Academic Transfer Advisor and now as a College Advisor.

LYNNETTE FREY
Instructor, Manufacturing Engineering Technology
With seven of Lynnette's top-ten strengths housed in strategic thinking, teaching seems to be a great fit. She enjoys using creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while coaching students through the engineering design process. She is excited to have the freedom to explore ideas, technologies, and concepts with students in Manufacturing Engineering Technology.

LINDA HARTMAN
Program Co-Director, Business Administration
Linda is the Business Program Co-Director on the Lincoln campus and have been with SCC for just over 20 years. She teaches a variety of business marketing and management classes, along with an entrepreneurship course.

AMY JORGENS
Vice President, Administrative Services
Amy has served as the Vice President for Administrative Services & Resource Development for the SCC for the last 8 years. She is a Certified Public Accountant who holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a Bachelor of Science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

KAT KREIKEMEIER
Administrative Director, Admissions
Kat joined SCC in November of 2013 and serves as the Administrative Director of Admissions.

TONI LANDENBERGER
Assistant Campus Director, Dean of Student Services
Toni started at SCC as a Business and Office Technology faculty member and co-chair and then transitioned to Administrative Director of Virtual Learning before taking on her current role.

JOEL MICHAELIS
Vice President, Instruction
Dr. Joel Michaelis has worked in the field of education his entire career, starting as a 6th grade math teacher, and has worked at several community colleges in student services, workforce, and academics in three states - Texas, Kentucky, and Nebraska. Along the way, he earned a B.B.A. in Management from Texas A&M University, a M.Ed. in Higher Ed Administration from UT Austin, and an Ed.D. in Higher Ed Administration from Baylor University.

ROBIN MOORE
Administrative Director, Institutional Research
Robin graduated from UNL and has worked her entire professional career at Southeast Community College. Her roles at SCC have included several in the Student Affairs division, including Director of Registration and Records and Dean of Students at the Milford Campus. She began her current role as the first Administrative Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research in January 2013.

KATY NOVAK
Liaison to the President, Special Projects Coordinator
Katy grew up in Southeast Nebraska and attended Wayne State College. After living in Utah for 10 years and working in Marketing, she joined SCC in 2019, working alongside Dr. Illich and the Administrative Team.

MIKE PEGRAM
Dean, Student Enrollment
Mike has been at Southeast Community College since December of 2001 and have been serving as the Dean of Student Enrollment since 2016. I really enjoy the work I do and the amazing and talented people I get to interact with on a daily basis!

ROD RHODES
Director of Assessment
Rod started working for SCC in 2008 on the Beatrice campus. He has previously worked in secondary education as a teacher, counselor, and coach.

CAROLEE RITTER
Dean, Arts & Sciences
After teaching English at the high school and university level, Carolee started at SCC as an adjunct instructor in the mid-1990's and knew at that time that she had found her professional home.

NICK SALESTROM
English Instructor
Born and raised in Nebraska, Nick Salestrom teaches English and education courses. He has studied in the fine arts, education, English, and creative writing.

SABRINA SCHINSTOCK
Administrative Assistant
Sabrina has been at SCC for almost ten years! She started as a work-study in the Financial Aid office in 2011, and has been an Administrative Assistant in Admissions and Career Services. She joined the Institutional Research team in May 2019 as an Administrative Assistant in Planning and Accreditation.

DAVID SCHMITTER
Physics Instructor
Dave earned his BA in Physics from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY and his MS and PhD from UNL. Since graduating in 2007, Dave has taught at Providence College and Massachusetts Maritime Academy before moving to SCC-Milford in 2016 where he teaches physics and the occasional math class.

KATIE SEWELL
Associate Dean, Community Services & Extended Learning
Originally from Minnesota, Katie went to graduate school in Michigan, then worked at Indiana University in Bloomington and UNL before coming to SCC. She loves to hang out with her family (husband and two young sons) between working on a Ph.D. in Human Sciences (focus in Leadership).

KIMBERLY SHIRK
Human Resources Coordinator
Kim has had an eclectic career starting in television journalism, speaker and author, strategic global marketing and now in human resources for higher education. At the heart of it all, I believe in people and their stories and that every single individual can have a huge impact on the world around us given the possibility of education and a handful of innate tools: hard work ethic, resilience, positivity, integrity and compassion.

AMANDA SKUBAN
Instructor, Dental Assisting
Amanda has been an instructor for the dental assisting program on the Lincoln Campus since 2007.

RACHEL SOMMERER
Associate Director, Financial Aid
Rachel has been with SCC for almost 7 years, and in Financial aid for the last 5.5 of those years. Before moving to NE, she lived and worked in the St. Louis, MO metropolitan area, giving her a total of approximately 24 year of higher education experience. She is married, with two children, and two rambunctious pups.
